Sunday, 27 August 2017. The exterior is almost as ornate as the interior. The stained glass was beautiful but I had to content myself with photographs taken from the outside. A sneaky glimpse through the door with visitors listening to a talk by one of the guides. This is Woman with Goose.

Founded in 1656, the Needlemakers is one of the City of London livery companies which sprang from ancient craft guilds. Watch our film on the Art and Mystery of Needlemaking. The Needlemakers Company sprang from one of the original craft guilds and was granted livery in 1656 by Oliver Cromwell, then by Charles II in 1664. It represents an ancient craft whose origins are lost in the mists of time.

The Lutterworth Embroiderers Guild were very fortunate to have Jean Littlejohn. I think most of the class managed to finish their morning piece - which was a small stitched picture that we then embellished.
